Alex Atallah says the OpenRouter Batch API covers 71 models so far and calls that the best model coverage in the market. He points to the OpenRouter batch model list.

He says OpenRouter routes each request to the cheapest provider and that users get the best pricing. Callers can use /chat/completions, /responses, or /messages on all models without learning a provider’s batch format.

He also says a request can be submitted and polled for the full response, rather than uploading JSONL to a files API, retrieving a file ID, submitting an upstream batch, polling an output file ID, and translating the results. The API does not require managing a files API or external buckets, and bring-your-own-key works with it.
