Jun Kim says he has joined Hugging Face to work full time on oMLX

Jun Kim says he has joined Hugging Face and will work full time on oMLX. The project started as a personal effort in February. It stays in the same repository under the Apache 2.0 license, and he will continue to lead it.

Kim says he can now spend more time on oMLX and move faster. Over time, he plans to push work upstream into the MLX ecosystem, including transformers, mlx-lm, and mlx-vlm, where that makes sense, and to try unmet community needs in oMLX first. He thanks 264 contributors. He identifies Hugging Face's oMLX announcement as the company's post on the move.
