# Google AI expands SynthID verification with public web portal

Google AI has opened public access to its SynthID watermark verification portal at [synthid.com](http://synthid.com). The tool allows users to verify whether image, video, or audio files are AI-generated, detecting watermarks created by Google as well as industry partners including OpenAI, nvidia, Kakao, and coming soon, Apple.

According to Google AI, the system has watermarked 180 billion images and videos along with over 240,000 years of audio content, handling approximately 1 million verification requests daily. The portal complements existing verification features embedded in Search, GeminiApp, and googlechrome.
