Jürgen Schmidhuber joins Sakana AI as chief scientific advisor

Sakana AI’s announcement says Jürgen Schmidhuber is joining as chief scientific advisor and will help guide its newly formed RSI Lab. The company describes the lab’s objective as triggering a compounding cycle of scientific discovery aimed at improving machine intelligence, and says it is assembling experts in Tokyo.

Sakana AI also says Schmidhuber’s work on machines that learn to learn has already shaped its Darwin Gödel Machine and The AI Scientist research.
