Google says Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite TTS can control tone, pacing, and expressive nuance with scripted non-verbal cues.

Vocal bursts can be written into a script with markers such as <laughs>, <sigh>, and <gasp>. Backchanneling uses active-listening interjections such as |mhm| or |yeah|.
