Microsoft Autopilot preview rolls out to first customers on OpenClaw

Omar Shahine said Microsoft is rolling out a preview of Autopilot to its first customers. He described Autopilot as “a persistent, proactive and personal agent that keeps working even when you’re not,” and said, “First Scout is now Autopilot.” His team leads development of the personal agent.

Autopilot is being built on OpenClaw. Shahine said Microsoft is working with Peter Steinberger and the OpenClaw Foundation to make OpenClaw an enterprise-grade runtime. Steinberger said Microsoft shipped the product on OpenClaw and that they have worked together since March to prepare the codebase for large-scale deployments; he also described Microsoft as a partner and an open-source contributor.
