Google AI releases Gemini 3.8 TTS models, Live Avatar, and Notebook updates

Google AI’s releases this week include Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite TTS, which it describes as two of its most expressive audio generation models yet. Gemini 3.8 Live adds Live Avatar, bringing near real-time visual presence to Gemini’s conversational AI.

Gemini_Notebook Interactive Learning Overviews are available to all users as an interactive hub that combines source summaries and artifacts. The Gemini_Notebook mobile app adds Live Chat for real-time, hands-free voice conversations across about 100 languages.

Project Suncatcher, the moonshot Google AI says it announced last year, will launch a prototype satellite to test Google TPUs in orbit and explore solar-powered AI compute in space.
