GitHub says Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 5.5 is now generally available in GitHub Copilot, including the Copilot app, CLI, and code. In GitHub’s early testing, it matched Sonnet 5 on coding tasks while using fewer steps, tokens, and tool calls and finishing faster.
